HYROX® is a global fitness race that combines running with functional workout stations, challenging both strength and endurance. A traditional race includes eight 1-kilometer runs, each followed by a workout station such as sled pushes, sled pulls, burpee broad jumps, rowing, farmers carries, sandbag lunges, and wall balls.

At Recreate Fitness, we offer a style of programming that helps athletes prepare for these types of functional fitness races and endurance challenges.

Train for HYROX-Style Events at Recreate

Our schedule includes:

  • Monday and Wednesday evening classes focused specifically on HYROX-style training
  • Saturday workout sessions with a stronger endurance and race-prep emphasis

These sessions are designed to help you build the engine, strength, and confidence needed for HYROX-style events, DEKA-style races, obstacle course racing, and other demanding fitness challenges.

What to Expect

Our HYROX-style and endurance training focuses on:

  • Endurance Development: Build the stamina to handle repeated running efforts and longer, sustained workouts.
  • Functional Strength: Train race-relevant movements like sled pushes, sled rope pulls, heavy carries, rowing, SkiErg, lunges, and wall balls.
  • Pacing & Efficiency: Improve your ability to move well, transition smoothly, and manage effort under fatigue.
  • Race-Ready Conditioning: Develop the strength, work capacity, and confidence to take on functional fitness races and endurance-based events.

Built Into the Recreate Training Style

Many of the movements commonly seen in HYROX-style racing are already part of our regular group training program at Recreate Fitness, including sled work, heavy carries, wall balls, rowing, SkiErg, and running-based conditioning.

Our traditional group training classes are an excellent foundation for anyone looking to improve overall fitness, increase endurance, and build functional strength. For athletes wanting a more race-specific focus, our Monday and Wednesday evening classes and Saturday endurance sessions offer deeper emphasis on sustained output, event-style training, and functional race preparation.

Membership & Drop-In Options

Our HYROX-style and endurance-based classes are:

  • Included with our traditional group training memberships
  • Available for drop-in
  • Eligible for punch pass use
